A former intelligence officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, shareholder Eugene H. Matthews is a certified mediator, arbitrator, and specialist in employment and labor law by South Carolina Supreme Court.

Shareholder Steven W. Hamm served as the state consumer advocate and administrator of the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs for more than twelve years, representing the public before the South Carolina General Assembly and state and federal agencies.

Jared H. Garraux joined Richardson Plowden in 2007 as an associate in the Columbia office. He focuses his practice in construction law.

Mr. Garraux graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University, earning his bachelor’s of science degree in Construction Management in 1998. He earned his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2007. While in law school, Mr. Garraux served as a production editor for the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Garraux gained construction experience with C.E. Thurston and Sons, Inc., in Columbia in mechanical insulation and asbestos removal for industrial and commercial construction projects. He also gained experience in construction management for highway construction, environmental remediation, and site-work related projects ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000 while working with The Posillico Group in Farmingdale, N.Y.

A native of Greenville, SC, he is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Richland County Bar Association.
