ATTORNEY HIGHLIGHTS

Richardson Plowden shareholders Steven W. Hamm and Jo Anne Wessinger Hill were awarded the 2007 Robert D. Spencer Award for outstanding volunteer advocacy by the Protection and Advocacy for People with Disabilities, Inc.

Richardson Plowden shareholder Francis M. Mack has a master’s of engineering and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Kathryn Valdes joined Richardson Plowden in 2009 in the Columbia office. Serving in an "Of Counsel" role, she focuses her practice on business, tax law, and estate planning.

Ms. Valdes graduated from Emory University, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2005. She earned her juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2008. Ms. Valdes was awarded an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law School in May 2009. While at Georgetown, her emphasis was in estate planning and estate taxation.

Prior to joining Richardson Plowden, Ms. Valdes clerked for Senator Glenn McConnell, president pro tempore and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and interned with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
