ATTORNEY HIGHLIGHTS

A shareholder with Richardson Plowden, David A. Anderson is a graduate of The Citadel and served in the United States Army in various command and staff positions until 1992. He received The Bronze Star for action in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Anderson retired with the rank of Colonel in 2006 from the National Guard and received the Legion of Merit Award for his service.

Leslie A. Cotter, Jr. has been extensively involved in the South Carolina Bar, where he has continuously served as a member of the House of Delegates since 1992 and has served two terms on the Nominating Committee and Practice and Procedure Committee.

Francis M. "Frank" Mack is a shareholder with Richardson Plowden in the Columbia office. Mr. Mack focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation in the areas of construction, contract disputes, fidelity and surety law, and insurance defense matters.

Mr. Mack's experience includes:

  • Served as lead trial counsel in the seminal case of L-J v. Bituminous.
  • Litigated numerous multi-million dollar contract disputes.
  • Frequent guest speaker on Risk Management for Professionals.
In 1982, Mr. Mack earned a juris doctor from the University of South Carolina. He also earned a master's of engineering from the University of South Carolina in 1974 and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering in 1970, graduating cum laude. As a student, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Tau Beta Pi and Omicron Delta Kappa.

Mr. Mack is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Richland County Bar Association and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association. He also is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. In 1991, Mr. Mack received the American Arbitration Association's Distinguished Service Award. He is recognized in Best Lawyers in America for business litigation.

Mr. Mack is a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church-Ft. Motte and has served as treasurer and member of the Vestry. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Sandy Run Volunteer Fire Department.
