Shelton W. Haile is an associate of Richardson Plowden in the Columbia office. He focuses his practice on professional malpractice, insurance defense and hospital/healthcare law and nursing home litigation.

Mr. Haile's experience includes:

  • Representing and advising hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, nurses and medical practice groups in medical malpractice, nursing home, and general litigation matters and regularly appearing in South Carolina courts on their behalf.
  • Representing individual and corporate clients in federal court and in state criminal and family court.
Mr. Haile graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Carolina in 2000 and was elected to membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. In 2004, he received his juris doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was on the Dean's List and a member of the GOP Law Society.

He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Richland County Bar Association and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys' Association. Mr. Haile has served on the South Carolina Bar's Law Student Liaison Committee and is a member of the Palmetto Health Alliance Institutional Review Board. He volunteers for the Palmetto Health Children's Hospital and is a member of Shandon Presbyterian Church.
