Douglas C. Baxter is a shareholder of Richardson Plowden in the Myrtle Beach office. He focuses his practice on legal malpractice defense, construction law, governmental liability defense, insurance defense, products liability and workers' compensation defense. Mr. Baxter has tried a number of cases in both state and federal courts. He also is a certified mediator by the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Mr. Baxter graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1982. He earned his juris doctor in 1985 from the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia.

He is active in the Horry County Bar Association, having served as secretary in 1994 and president in 1996. He also served in the South Carolina Bar's House of Delegates from 1992 to 1994. He is active in his church and community.
